It doesn’t take long to become full at Meatopia, especially when you have just devoured an enormous tomahawk rib after doing the rounds at Tobacco Dock.

But there are few other events where meat sweats and gluttony are something to be celebrated. From the sumptuous pulled goat Cuban sandwich by Duck and Waffle to Shackfuyu’s hot and spicy Korean barbecued lamb ribs with Bone Daddies wing sauce and potato salad, Meatopia, held in Wapping, London, is a delight for all the senses.

Naturally not the place to be if you are vegetarian or have a problem with smoke, all the chefs took enormous pride in the sourcing, cooking and presentation of their meat.

As a beer drinker always on the lookout for something new to try, Craftopia offered beers from Hackney Brewery, London Brewing Co (an intriguing saison) and Beavertown.

Live music from acts ranging from brass bands to flamenco dancers gave the event a carnival atmosphere that almost made you forget about the rain.
