We’ll catch your killer

Met’s vow on PC Yvonne Fletcher

THE Met Police yesterday vowed to find PC Yvonne Fletcher’s killer, 30 years after she was shot dead.

Her family joined friends and colleagues in remembering the officer — gunned down aged 25 outside the Libyan embassy in 1984.

Speaking at the memorial service, Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe said: “We lost a colleague, and we’re determined to catch the person responsible.”

Relatives laid flowers at the spot where she was hit by a sniper from the embassy while policing a rally in St James’s Square, central London.

Met cops still regularly visit Libya to probe the shooting.
